Our Activities

Bouquet Bar

Learn how to make bouquets with our freshly cut flowers.

Join us for a morning at the farm, where beauty blooms all around. Learn from a professional florist how to create a stunning bouquet from start to finish. We share tips on composition, structure, colour, and the floral elements that go into making a beautiful bouquet.

Held in the heart of our working farm, this event combines creativity, nature, and community. All flowers are grown right here with care, and your participation supports a good cause — 100% of the proceeds are donated to a local charity (this year we supported the Salmon Arm Transition House).

To make the day even sweeter, we provide delicious farm-fresh snacks to enjoy while you work. Come for the flowers, leave with a bouquet and a smile!

This workshop happens mid-summer each year on our property. Keep an eye on our website and facebook page in July for our next bouquet bar.

Farming and Art Camp

Each year, the farm hosts an arts camp for kids, in partnership with the Chase and Area Family Services.

The program features music, drama, visual arts, and plenty of hands-on learning about permaculture and caring for the environment. This 4-day summer program is open to children aged 6 to 12.

We paint, dance, sing, act, and produce a theatrical performance to share with family and friends on the last afternoon of camp. Berry picking and visiting the goats are daily optional activities. Tasty lunch featuring our own produce is provided each day.

Please check back in late spring for our next year's camp dates.

Farm Tours

Explore the ways our farm is contributing to food security and ecological restoration.

Miyawaki Forest

The Miyawaki method involves planting a variety of native trees and shrubs very close together, creating a multi-layered forest ecosystem in a small area, even just a few square meters.

Food Forest

A type of perennial food garden that mimics the structure and function of a natural forest ecosystem. Instead of relying on annual crops and traditional row layouts, a food forest incorporates multiple layers of plants, similar to a forest, to create a bountiful, diverse and self-sustaining system.

Xeriscape Garden

A landscape design that thrives with minimal water use and drought tolerant plant choices, making it an environmentally friendly and sustainable garden option, especially in dry climates.

Wetland Restoration

Our conservation effort is focused on returning the lost wetland in the low lying area of our property to its natural state and function. We are working towards re-establishing the ecological system that existed in the valley prior to decades of farming activity.

At Notch Hill Community Growers, we are passionate about sharing ways to help create a resilient future for our region. We've installed a xeriscape garden, a Miyawaki forest and a food forest on our property, in order to inspire others who may wish to plant in similar ways. We'd love to give you tips on how to plant these types of gardens in your own yard.

We are also working on a wetland restoration project, which will create habitat for wildlife, contribute to water retention in our valley, and offer a space of calm and beauty for visitors.
